One of the most anticipated films of the year... What can I say?

I think that I can say quite a bit...

The movie did what it accomplished to do, ring in the blockbuster season. But honestly, you'd have to be beyond fanboy if you think that this was less of Iron Man 2 and more like Iron Man 1 and a 1/2. Ok, I will not lie, the introduction of War machine put the theater in a wicked spell of nostalgic energy. But is the the only trick you all have to offer? The movie promised us, more villains, more heroes, blah blah blah. I mean the big bad "SHIELD" organization had one head in the movie while the other one picked unmentioned, unsolicited, and very rare cameos to say something less than inspiring every time. But that's unfair for me to complain of, this is Iron man after all. I wouldn't go to the circus to see monster trucks. But it was a subtle delivery that I felt could have been better emphasized.

But there was a noticeable draw to the casting. The addition of a second stunning women.

As if the beautiful Gwyneth Paltrow could already set our hearts a blaze with a waltz across the screen. The geniuses in casting enlisted the aid of bombshell Scarlett Johansson, sporting a red do (my favorite).

Paltrow, as in the first film, played Stark's love interest Miss Pepper Potts. She does that well, or as good as she can. Scarlett's character (Natasha Romanoff) on the other hand... lacked... extendability. Yes, I understand it wasn't a SHIELD movie, but still, if she's to play it in the film make less than the sexy thing to gawk at every once in a while. But it worked didn't it? And hey one good move deserve another.

Rooney did a great job playing Ivan Vanko. Here has a nac for playing family deprived crazy guys (Sin City). Though Cheadle replaced Howard as the Lt Col, he's a solid actor and did well with his play in the story. The casting for the most part was solid and the film itself just suffered from a lot of the same thing.

All in all the movie was a good watch and a decent reason for getting out of the house. But maybe something a little more out of left feild would have been appreciated. i mean did you have to stick the preview of the hammer at the end of the movie as you did with the first one... really?
